    Joining instructions may be for people with disabilities, those who have slow internet connections or the parking space may be non-existent.

    very simple: if attendees don’t know the time, place , subject and duration of the meeting they wont/cant come. Also see comments on ‘invitations’ topic in this group.

    Also need to give info’ on accessibility (eg disabled ramps, assisted entry,  allocated parking if needed) and general parking on site or nearby; nearby bus/train routes ; on site facilities such as cafeteria availability.  (of course all these apply only post covid)

    Thank you for these.

    I think there is a key point about joining instructions – it is not enough to go to the venue website and take what they say for granted about it being at the right level of detail – for example I have seen venue websites have maps of parking which just showed WHERE to park, but omitted that there were VERY FEW actual parking spaces – searching up peoples experiences of the venue and any issues that are flagged seems crucial. One cannot take anything for granted in creating joining instructions.

    For me, this can come under what type of impression do you want to make with your attendees?

    A lack of clarity about a simple aspect of a transaction like this may contribute to a bad first impression – and that could have very severe impacts for the individuals setting up the meeting, not to mention possible adverse business effects.

    On a slightly more specific note – also be wary of using satnav settings or postcode/zip code details supplied by the venue. This because sometimes those details are part of a generic address for a location and may not be best for identifying nearest actual access. For example a large venue, say a major exhibition hall, might have a  single postal code or satnav co-ordintes for the building but there may be several entrances maybe be streets apart and may not be best for local parking or public transport accesses. Good joining instructions will include those extra levels of details where necessary.
