        Always a good idea to acknowledge seniority levels in a meeting especially in very conservative companies. This does not mean however that you should be afraid to speak your views or why else be there.  Its always a judgement call between professional integrity i.e. ‘I believe this needs to be said’ and pragmaitism i.e. ‘i need to keep my position’ but on balance in most cases,,,active involvement is usually well worth considering as primary.
